Yamaha Bash Plate
#1
I have a question. I bought a geniune yamaha front bash plate for my 06 bruin. I just went to go install it and the stock front bash and engine skid plate are one piece. Am I supposed to take off the whole thing and cut the stock platic one so it only covers the engine? This does not make any sense to me. You would think that a GENIUNE yamaha accessory would fit w/o any modification. The aluminum non stock bashplate and engine skid plate should be one piece, just like the stock one. Part number is ABA-5ND34-40-00
This is the bash plate.
Weird thing is... yamaha used to show the egine/frame skid plate for the 06 too..now it doesnt. I would take the plate off and cut off it off, but I dont feel like un bolting my plow frame then re-attatching it only to take it back off in a month. Did Yamaha goof on releasing these bash plates? If it said cut the existing skid plate then I would have no questions..

They sell the aluminums in 2 different pieces so you have to buy both, and then they make more money. I don't know why you're wasting your money on genuine yamaha parts though, aftermarket ones cost half as much and are the same or better quality. An aluminum skid plate is an aluminum skid plate, no matter who makes it.

I hope it doesnt snow too much. I took off the stock skid plate, cut it down w/ a sawzall so I was able to install the bash plate. I guess they got me... I just seen a full chasis skid plate on rockymountainatv for my quad..figures. Now I have to buy the engine skid plate from yamaha unless I find one.
