I agree..My bet is it was either a failed pump(only a plastic gear) or more likely it was a air leak..

Default Blaster oil pump question

I'll check the color of the new plug I put in when my new piston comes in tomorrow. I plan to run it on pre-mixed gas and have it idle with the oil tube off the carb and the carb plugged. There's a certain amount of oil it should pump each 200 pump strokes, so I'll accomplish both things at once. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

Default Blaster oil pump question

Got the new top end in....

The oil pump checks out fine

The jetting is perfect

the bike runs like a champ

The only change in setup between now and when it blew up was the brand of piston. The one that siezed was a Wiseco, and the one I put in is a WSM. Maybe it was just a bad piston.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. -Randy
