35mm FCR with trinity intake & stock airbox?
#1
Has anybody been able to use the Trinity intake manifold with the 35mm FCRs & still use the stock airbox on a 660 Raptor?
Trinity tells me it moves the carbs back towards the airbox by 1" & therefore doesn't work with the stock airbox setup.
However, they were not sure if it moves the carbs down or to the left away from the exhaust.
Pics on Kenzcycletech website http://kenzcycletech.com/ra66039fcrca.html looks like it moves the carbs to the left. They said it works with the stock airbox.
Besides that, my Yoshi exhaust hits the accelerator pump big time. I can forget about putting any small dents in the header to clear, it would take a min of a 1/2" dent which would restrict airflow bigtime. Either a custom header or a whole new exhaust in inevitable!

Cant help with the airbox question as I run no airbox at all, with the yoshi setup I had the same problem with the accell pump and was going to modify the yoshi to fit. They say if you space the top engine mount you can claim more clearance. What I decided to do was sell my yoshi and bought a LTE dual setup, very happy with that decision

I did gain about 1/4" with adding washers between motor mounts & frame to help clear the linkage but I guess I wouldn't mind a little more frame clearance for insurance. Thus the interest in the Trinity intake manifold.
Ya, the Yoshi has to go. I am thinking about the Sparks X-6 SS exhaust, they now make it with an optional spark arrestor which I like but they also just raised the price I like the LTE too but don't like the price & the fact that it connects to the fender bracket & not directly to the subframe. Probably nothing to worry about but I do ride in rough terrain.
My Yoshi is about 100db, Sparks says their X6 is about 102 db, how about the LTE non quiet version?

Well, I got a good deal on a new Sparks X-6 ss exhaust. The header & silencer pipe is a little bit bigger(1/8"-1/4") than my Yoshi so I expect it will make a little more top end as well. I may hold off on doing the 719cc stroker until next year if this combination with the FCRs makes enough power. Hopefully this will eliminate all clearance issues too. I'll be installing it this weekend so time will tell.......
