Default to extend warrenty or not to extend.

I bought two 06 700 raptors in nov. i've got pipe and header and filter on mine. gonna get a power commander soon. the other is all stock. I was gonna extend the warrenties on both for two years but it would cost me 500 each to do that. would it be worth it or would it be something that if something breaks that yamaha would find a reason not to cover it anyways? just don't want to make the wrong choice. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

I bought my 01 warrior brand new in 01. I bought an extended 5 year extened warranty. To keep this short I wasted money on the warranty when I could have paid for other things I needed instead. In my opinion and experience I would say a big fat NO!!!

I agree. If a problem is going to happen with a new quad, it's because of a factory defect, and will probably show up withing a few months of riding. If anything does happen, there's a lot of dealers that will do whatever they can to wiggle their way out of covering it under warranty.

I totally agree....The extended warranty isn't worth it. If something is going to go wrong, it will probably do it within the factory warranty timeframe. In addition, most rider related "boo-boo's" are not covered under warranty. My buddy had an extended warranty on his YFZ450 and he landed on sharp rock which punctured his crankcase, not covered....damn that factory warranty was worth every penny...lmao. Hell, at least he could have had a full system exhaust with what he paid on the extended warranty...lol
