wierd doubt
Right so I'm the kid thats gonna build a go-kart with an atv engine in it. I was checking around the forums and I ran into quadbart's post on how he put a gsxr1000 engine into his raptor. This is where my doubts come in. The reason why I was looking into an ATV engine was because the can go pretty fast and still climb steep things or get over obstacles fairly easy. Quadbart's engine pulls 230HP. That will make it go very fast in a very short amout of time, BUT will it still have the ability to do serious offroading??
I ask because it would be a heeluva lot cheaper for me to use a street bike engine plus I could go bigger with the money I save but I don't want to scrifice torque in the process.
Thanks
Andrea

wierd doubt
Speedy: thats exactly my plan. to build something pretty hard core.
Recon99: How difficult (or expensive) would it be to have one of these engines re-geared? Do you think theres any other options out there that I could consider? I really want a good balance between speed and torque.
Thanks
Andrea

that is what i am building... except the a arms they use is a 1 to 2
i am going to use pretty much everything off of a 660r
i figured it would cost about $1500 to build.
