Raptor 660 stock needs mods to drag with shee's and 450's
hiya,i know it loooks like one of those posts that there is no point to, but there is. i have recently took my 660 beast onto an mx track, and i was shocked!!!my 660 is stock and a tuned yfz pulled along side me and just pulled ahead of me, erm and i want to be able to take these kind of bikes in a race. i never really see any banshee's but i see a fiar few yfz's and starting to see ltr 450's. what am i going to need on my raptor to win these guys in a drag [ mainly short ones as in a long drag i should win on speed alone.] i ahve ordered a new durablue racing axle for the track, so i can stand more of a chance, but i need a pipe and airfilter, but even then i fear its not enough. i was looking at a yoshi pipe perhaps trinity or mabe just wb or fmf, hmf etc. also if i drop a tooth on the front sprocket will it be noticble to acceleation and torque aswel as top end power and speed? there alot there to answer, but i know some of you know your stuff on this kind of topic, any help available? cheers

A good full pipe and open intake will do wonders for a 660R if its tuned and jetted properly. You should be able to atleast run with them if they have the same mods but if they have internal mods (especially on the Banshee) then forgetaboutit...........

you might also want a stage 1 or 2 hotcam, if youre going with the stage 2, get a hot rod connecting rod and crankshaft, an extended swingarm is a must for drag racing, light wheels, pipe, air filter etc, if youre going to be drag racing, you want to be light, accelerate fast and keep your tires on the ground

I hate to be the one to give you the bad news but your gonna have to crack open the check book to run with mildly tuned yfzs much less banshees. We sand drag ALOT I mean all day long about every other weekend. One of my friends has a raptor with a extended swingarm, 11:1 piston, stage 2 hot cams, on alcohol plus all the regular bolt on goodies. He can run with mildly tuned 450s but if they start doing any motor work to them other than the cam timing mod he's in trouble. If you want a fast raptor you need to bite the bullet and call one of the good builders around ie. kenz, craycraft racing just a couple for examples. Speed costs money. How fast you want to go?
