Default yamaha banshee problem

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the problem is with my '97 Banshee. When I start it, It runs fine but when it warms up... it idles high and after a few minutes it acts like one of the plugs is fouled. But I'll shut off the engine and start it back after a few minutes....the side that was acting fouled is hitting but the other side doesn't. I asked my local dealer and they said it sounds like my intake boots were dry rotted but I checked them and they seem fine. Any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Check your plugs and see what color they are. Check the carb slides and see if they're even. Next check the coils, switch them back and forth, see if that yields any results, coils can act funny. Intakes could have an air leak, make sure everythings very tight and in the proper position. Thats a good start.

Since the problem seems to happen after the motor warms up, It could be a problem with your choke. I would also take a look at your pilot settings and make sure the air filter is clean.

It may also be a crank seal causing an air leak.

Check your reeds and make sure you dont have one cracked or broke. It could be that the broke reed is delivering too much fuel and air to the engine which is fine when it is cold because it requires more fuel but after it warms up it could be fouling a plug. Check your choke. And if you think it is an air leak get some starting fluid and squirt around the suspected leaking area while it is running and see if it idles down if it does then you found your leak.
