hya, a mate of mine at school, well how should i put it, has a fair bit of money and asked her dad for a quad and so both dad and daughter are getting quads. well kate is getting a brand new z400 and dad is getting a ds 650. i dont think he knows all that well how to ride. do i stand a chance if both machines are stock in a drag race? if so whats the favourable distance for the length of drag [ how many feet or yards?]. im not great on my raptor but i spend ages on it, jus racing up and down fields and i can shift well enough to keep ahead of tuned 125 crossers and erm keep the 660 in the meat of the power. also what about round a track? i have a wider axle and my riding should be alot better, will this be enough to win the ds?????thanks for your replies

 

Both of those are Great Quads. In fact they are so close that it can go either way in a drag race. I have both and my son and I trade off both of us have won on both Quads. If you want to impress your friend from school I don't think beating her dad in a race will do the trick, Instead why don't you go riding with them and leave your competiton hat at home. Less stress = more fun. And we always screw up when showing off or trying to 1 up someone.

I think the DS is a faster quad. My buddies DS650 keeps up with a new Raptor 700

 

i think the 660r is the faster quad.. it will go either way

 

depends on the rider, because it will go either way like already said, but I would go out and get a K&N with outerwears. It will give it a tiny but more powerdue to increased air flow and then your bound to win if your are a litlle better rider.

 

They are very close....the 04 and up ds's do edge the raptor out from start to finish. They are neck and neck the entire way pretty much almost the same speed usually.... the ds has a mph or two on the top end. They both mod well but the raptor does mod a bit better with a pipe and filter/airbox opened up....but they are still very close with both having pipes and filters.

 

ds 650 is more comfortable for a bigger dude. Its the better driver, actually its the person who knows the machine better, If you know exactley were the powerband is on the machine and you are able to use it the correct way, you will win.

 

you need to beat her dad in that drag no matter what. to get your quad super fast you only need to spend a couple bucks. i have the secret trick. all you have to do is buy nitrus stickers and slap them on and you will dominate.
