I disagree with you about the manual, except for the Chinglish part! I am about to spend $60.00 for the Service Manual for my 2006 660.

The important point about the oil level is that folks on this forum and others have had the same questions/concerns I had. A forum is here to discuss all issues, help others, and prevent potential problems. I keep my vehicles for many years (still have my 1972 Chevy 4X4 I bought new) and know correct maintenance is very important and lubrication is the basis for all good maintenance.
