Anyone heading to H/M for the jamboree this weekend? I was just down last weekend...awesome riding as usual, but pack rain gear for the jamboree, Little Coal River trails were soaked.

I have been really wanting to go down there, but unfortanetly if I do this year it won't be until late summer. Wish I could go for the jamboree.

I am not going to be able to make the jamboree but I am going down there for the first time next weekend. I am only going for 2 days and I have never been there before can you give me any advice as far as where to go and not to go. I am staying in Gilbert.

If your staying in Gilbert, I would say the Rockhouse trailhead would be the closest to you. Both Rockhouse and Bearwallow trailheads offer great riding and a mix of green, blue and black trails. Little Coal River offers the easiest trails, but there aren't many challenges here and usually this trail is the worst in terms of water laying and poorly maintained trails. I have not ridden from the other two trailheads. The riding hear is awesome, up and down mountains all day. My only warning is that some of the black level trails are extremely challenging. I was unable to even make it up some of the hills without a 4x4. My advice would be to ride from Rockhouse first and then from Bearwallow. I stayed in Logan, which is about half way between the two, Gilbert may be a little farther drive to get to the Bearwallow TH. Have Fun!
