I am not sure if the breather thing is fact or fiction. To be on the safe side, I stopped by the parts store and picked up an automotive breather (2 bucks-size is about 1" X 4"). It slid into the crankcase breather hose and I zip tied it to the frame. Piece of cake!

dont bash because im a DS owner(banshee owner also),but when i put the RW pipe on my bike i had to reroute my case vent hose and i used the vent hose filter from K&N.cost $20 and worked great.just slid it in and tighten the hose clamp.hope it helps.

Chop...is the crankcase vent hose on the DS routed before the airbox or after? I can't understand why Yamaha did'nt attach it where it needed to be (in clean air!). Maybe it would take vacuum away from the CV carbs?

the DS has two snorkles(air tubes) running into the airbox.the vent hose ran into the top of one at the top of the hose.i guess so it was as far from the ground as they could get it.i rerouted mine to the frame behind the radiator, then up along the bottom of the gas tank then up between the frame and gas tank just under the seat.i think the filter is better than the stock setup because the vent hose wasnt filtered at all before.now i know its sucking clean air.by the way,660's are really sharp, just not big enough for me.hope you enjoy it.
