Default YAMAHA RAPTOR 660 EXHAUST

hi,
I am thinking about geting an exhaust for my 2001 raptor 660R and I know this guy that will sell me a exhaust for my raptor. He custom makes them and tells me there the best slip on exhaust you can buy for the raptor 660, He also clames that dyno test shows that it increases your horsepower by 8.1 hp and has 20 ft pounds of tork. I was wondering if that is alot or HP for a pipe or if other brands like FMF and white brothers have more horsepower

Thanks

he also told me that it is for compition only and does not have a spark arestor and i dont think a stock spark arestor will fit. How hard are to make and will it be leagal because I like to ride trails. Also He told me i must rejet but will i have to get airbox mods too because I hear that is a major part in the system to make my ATV ride fast.

Look into the LRD pipe. Slip on gives you 12 hp gain. The full system gives you 14 hp gain. I love mine, Lots more torque

You/we need more information on this pipe. My guess is you dont have the type of buildup to warrant high dollar out of frame race pipes so skip Tim's shop.

A custom made slip on exhaust could easily be a cherry bomb from your local auto store, get us some pictures or a company name or something more before you buy.

Personally I would go get myself a yoshi full system as they are floating around RMATV and other sites for very cheap and perform very well.

Technically, an HMF is a high-grade glasspack itself.
