Default 240 blaster question

ive been looking for a while for something with more power and speed than my old beat up warrior, there is a 1997 blaster, with a Vito's 240 big bore kit, 3 inch extended swingarm, DG exhaust and more, for only $1300. I have a few questions i now these 240 blasters rip but do you think it will be reliabele with its age and the fact that it has a 240 bore, also wat will it be able to match up against and will it have a lot of power, im about 5'11' 250 pounds, its either this for cheap or a 2002 400ex stock for $2200

Default 240 blaster question

thats wat i thought, but my freind who is 5'8' 125 or so, was the one who wanted me to get it but his parents are now gonna allow him to get it if it is a good deal, will it be reliable or a p.o.s. also will it be affected due to its age and wat does the extened swingarm do?

thats a pretty good price but im not sure about the reliability......i would think it would be pretty good. The extended swing arm helps keep the front end down during eccelaration, so the front end dosent always want to pop up on you.

if you are ready for the maintence of a 2 stroke, especially a 240 (not goiing to be unreliable, you just need to constantly be looking at everything to make sure it is good) then go for it! great bike.

when you say the normal 2 stroke maintence wat do you mean, and also wat would a blaster with that setup be able to beat, (raptor, 400ex, so on) it would be mostly trails and small drags.

It will beat your warrior but in top-end, the 400 probably will win. Stock the blaster does
about 55 mph, and I dont think a 240 kit will jump it to 65+ like the 400.

Default 240 blaster question

thats wat ive heard, but i also heard that if you get a good port and polish job it makes the 240 kit into a monster, but back to the reliablitly part, will it be fine for some kinda long rides, going through water, snow riding, cold winters, hot summers, mud, hills, will anything happen to the engine in any of those situations. Also wat will i have to look at every once in a while as paintball banshee said, i have a 4stroke wat is typical 2 stroke maintence
