I think for slower trails, you'll be very pleased with the 12T. If you find the 12T still a touch too tall, get a 42T rear as well.

I thought I had already posted this but I must have gotten distracted and not pressed Enter...[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
Here are my results with the 14/40 setup....
1. It did "seem" like there was a little more top end speed
2. It made the slow going on rocky trails and uphill climbs a lot
more cumbersome...Bike wanted to cut out alot with this setup
in first gear....Low end torque didn't seem near as good either...
Summary..
I am going to now try a 12 Tooth front sprocket(stay with 40 stock rear) and see if this yield s
the results I am looking for...Better low end torque and less shifting..
I am really not concerned about the top end speed...60 is fast enough for me...
By the way, I have 22" rear tires if I haven't stated that before and
a properly jetted after market exhaust...
I will post results here....
