Default ttr 125 not staying on?

My ttr125L wil start and will sometimes idle and die. When you rev the bike up and it comes back down, it just shuts off like someone is holding the killswitch and will not make an attempt to stay on. Then when it gets warmed up it wil start and then die intantly. You have to keep it in the high rpms for it to stay on, you have to constantly be on the throttle. Please help, first bike i ever owned, love it so, dont like to see it like this LOL.

go on ebay, buy the 5 percent increase jetting for the ttr125, it is called the ttr fix, because they are cold natured, if you increase the main jet not only will it idle so much better but it will also be faster!

Faster. I am late with reply due to being preoccupied with the 07 Griz but never-the-less you need to go with one size up on pilot jet and then adjust the fuel mixture screw for stock set-up. Now, the exhaust is very restrictive and you can also open it up slightly, 1 inch ID is what I did, and then you will need to go up on main also. The newest TTR125s have a cap over the fuel mixture screw that will need to be drilled out to adjust. Check out Thumpertalk on the TTR page for lots of great info.

Hi, I have a ttr 125. The problem you are haveing is that your pilot jet is clogged. This can happen quite easily either from crud getting in to your carb or if it sits around for awhile (4 months or more) the gas can slime it up. I have to clean mine out a couple of times a year. The carb comes off pretty easy on those. You have to remove the pilot jet and run a fine wire through it (the hole is really small) along with some carb cleaner. If you are at or near sea level you should be running a 110 main jet and a 17.5 pilot jet, both available from a dealer.
