ALSO I NOTICED THAD MY YFZ BACKFIRES ONLY WHEN TORQUE BRAKING. I CHECKED THE AIR INTAKE AND HEADER FOR ANY LEAKS BUT DIDN'T FIND ANY. HOW DO I TELL IF IT IS RINNING TO LEAN OR TO RICH?? I TOOK OFF THE ASIR BOX COVER JUST FOR A FEW MINUTES TO SEE IF IT WILL FEEL ANY DIFFRENT, BUT IT WAS ONLY LOUDER, AND MAYBE LOST A LITTLE POWER. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK. HAVE A BLAST RIDING.
See my above post. Though it may not be EXACTLY what you want, it should give you a good ballpark setting. Then perhaps buy 1-2 main jets bigger and smaller to fine tune your top-end. I doubt you'll need a bigger pilot than a 45 with those mods, and the needle will probably be ok at the 5th or 6th clip.

If you bought an 06' YFZ, you will have to get a needle from an 04-05, or an aftermarket one.
I have the DR D pipe, K&N filter (with air-box removed), and cam mod, and I am running a 45 pilot, stock needle on the 5th clip, 172 main jet, and it runs extremely strong at sea level.

Hope this helps.
