Have you seen the latest issue of Quad magazine? If what they have to say is true, Suzuki already has that in mind for 2008 in the form of a Quadracer 250R, apparently powered by a RMZ250 engine.
Suzuki already has the recreational 250 sport market dominated with the z250, and now they are going to start a new 250 racing class pretty much on their own.

Yamaha apparently has no answer for either. If you want a Yamaha 250, you're stuck with their utility class model the timberwolf...er...beartracker...er...bruin...er... big bear 250...er....whatever they're going to call it next year.

Doesn't suzuki actually have to release the race ready 250 before you can expect another company to answer? Isn't there some lesson on symantics somewhere in there that says the challenge needs to be made before someone can answer it?

The day the race ready 250's come out at the price of the recreational 400 bikes (which is how much they'll cost) almost every one of you calling for these bikes will be whining and complaining about the cost. Then you'll go buy a 400 class bike or the recreational 250's. I guess that's why Yamaha is pushing the sport quads into the 8k dollar range, so when the 5500 250 thumper race bike comes out it wont seem so expensive anymore...
