I own a 2000 Yamaha Kodiak with 26 x 10 x 12 Mud Bugs. I need more ground clearance. I know High Lifter makes the lift kit for $150, but I heard that Moose makes one for under $100. I read in Dennis Kirk magazine, but none for the 2000 model. Also saw Moose's lift kits have five speed or 10 speed, what's up with that. Got stuck in a big rut yesterday, and a 500 Sportsman got out because he didn't bottom out, gotta get that lift kit. Any info. would be appreciated.

First off, the polaris has independant rear suspension so the clearance is great from front to rear. Since your Kodiak has no indepentant rear suspension your diff is the lowest point and always will be even if you get a lift kit. A lift will only give you more clearance everywhere else. And also that polaris had true all wheel drive pulling him along! So don't go making your Kodiak top heavy for no good reason with a lift kit unless your dead sure it will help you.

I hope that helps and does not crush your hopes ;-)
