98 warrior with no spark
#1
Hey ya'll I am new here so please bear with the stupidity if possible.I have a 98 warrior that I bought and it was running fine until my 18 yr. old son stuck it in the mud and streched the chain as well as sheared 3 teeth on the front sprocket. So i shortened the chain and put on a 12 tooth to replace the 13 that was on there.Since then I have not been able to get it to start.I looked and saw that the battery was boiled completely dry.so I bought one of those only to find that I have no spark on the plug now.I took it down the only shop we have with in 40 miles and he tells me that the only way he can diagnose it is to buy all the electrical componets one at a time untill he finds the problem.Which by the way all have to be ordered and waited on as well as me paying for his time and trouble untill he comes up with a solution.I have already placed a lot of time and money in it with accesories and tires and such.I hate to have to replace things that are not needed but I have a friend who just bought a raptor and he keeps going on and on about what a piece of s*** my warrior is and how I just should cut my losses and buy a raptor.Well I am hoping to get her running and do what ever it takes to make him eat his words. But I am at the mercy of throwing good money after bad.I was told that the rectifier was most likley the reason for the over charging of the battery to begin with but would it have no effect on the spark problem.I have one of those ordered but any help with the spark problem would be appreciated.I have looked on e-bay and read from others where they have bought several items and are reselling them because they didnt work for them.I am almost broke and at my wits end and getting Dogged by raptor buddy HELP PLEASE.....
