2000 Blaster running issues....
#1
Hello all,
I have a 2000 blaster stock that today started having issues. We were out riding most of the day and all was well. When we came back to our vehicle to take a break, I noticed the engine seemed to lose power. It failed to hold an idle and died. I tried to restart it and it will kick over realy easy and is sounding (the little I know) to be running ok. However every time I started it I could gas it in neutral, etc, but it wouldnt idle. That issue of idling not working appears to be resolved now (not sure if its related), but I am still having the issue of it having no power.
In any gear you can shift in, but it just has like NO pull. It barely gets up and going compared to how it was previously.
Any thoughts?
UPDATE*** --- Apparently its idling on its own isnt resolved. Its about 50/50 that it will idle, the other half it just dies, but still kicks over again real simple. It just seems like the engine isnt getting any power but it seems to have plenty of compression.

Might be time to do a compression check. Not sure what it should be though.
A manual is an excellent thing to have.I got mine from my local dealer. There not cheap but will save you a ton of money in the long run.It has detailed pictures of just about anything on you quad, torque specs, detailed descriptions,etc....

It has the same compression as always kicking over. Its just as hard/easy as its always been. It will still turn over in one kick, I can rev the engine high and it "sounds" ok, etc. It just has issues idling and the pull isnt there.

Maybe your air filter got dirty after riding all day. Also you might need to clean the carb, something might be plugging the main jet? Just a suggestion. My moms from Rupert Idaho. There some awesome places to ride in Idaho. Have fun

I'd do a compression check. If it sounds good but doesn't seem to have alot of power, you may need to check the clutches.Just something to think about.

What kinda oil are you using? It might be gumming up the cylinders. Also clean the carbs, and air filter for sure. Try turning your idle all the way down then back up to were it idles where its supposed to.
