Default need help with yfz450

I have an 04 yfz450, and it runs pretty good, until about 4th or 5th gear.. then i hear like a ticking noise when i start to open it up. i just put a new chain on it cause i thought that could have been the problem.. but it didn't help, and on top of that.. the throttle response isn't what it used to be.. any suggestions on the problem would be greatly appreciated.

IF it was the valves it would do it all the time...I think you mite have chip a gear in 4th and in 5th..
