Engine alternatives for Warrior?
#1
Is there a different, more potent powerplant that can be dumped into a Warrior Chassis without a bunch of fabrication? I also want a well balanced engine to keep down the vibration.
My old Warrior needs the engine gone through which although not terribly expensive still wont help it much with power. I figure to make it keep up a little better with the Raptor it will need another engine altogether. Hopefully it's something that can be funded from the sale of a good running Warrior engine.

How much fabrication was required to make it work? I imagine you had to build your own mounts but were they complex or fairly simple to build up? Was the project laid out beforehand or just eyeball engineered?

The motor mounts were fairly simple. We cut out the stock warrior mounts and braced the motor where we wanted it. We then used cutouts to get the desired motor mounts. We did have to find a place for the oil cooler and oil tank. The stock 400ex oil tank is not usable so we had to make one out of 190 wall aluminum. Remember, no matter what motor you decide to use be it 400ex or a hayabusa 1300, think of all the other stuff you need to mount such as oil cooler, radiators, oil tanks, exhaust routing, etc.
