Default YFZ speed ??'s

Well I am wondering how I can increase the top speed of my yfz without regearing. I also want to know why stock the yfz can hit the rev limiter on top speed and raptors can have mods and still not hit it. When I ride with my friends, his raptor has about 1 or 2 or 3 mph more on top speed so when we go on long rides that are just straight aways to where we need to go (which is all the time) I get left behind because they just pull away after time.. thx in advance

Bigger rear tires, lose some weight on the quad (or yourself, ;-), Cam, or high compression piston.

The YFZ hits the limiter easier because it is a very free revving design. If you are bouncing off the limiter all the time, you need to regear it. Try going up one tooth on the front sprocket, it will only cost you $15 and 15 minutes of your life to see if you like it, and you should gain more than that 3mph up top you are looking for.

dude if you want serious speed increase your front sptocket 2 sizes, get a high compression piston, high performance cam (for acceleration) and with those mods i think you might keep the accel or just lose like a tiny bit, But top speed your gonna fly right past him!
