I recently submited a request for an insurance quote. I've been thinking, and besides the pain it causes, I thought its probably worth it to protect my investment. I'd hate to have a real nasty wreck and be out all most 7 grand! Anyway the quote came back as $157 per year. Is that a good price? I don't know anything about ATV insurance. It seemed pretty resonable. What do you guys think?

I can,t believe everyone does not have insurance on something as expensive as these machines. And the risk of a crash and theft is high in this sport. $157 a year on a $7000 machine sounds good to me. I was in the back at a ATV dealer and there where doing 3 insurance jobs on quads that crashed or flipped down a hill. The bikes where still rideable but had broken racks, lights and plastic, it was well over $1500 to replace the parts, plus labour.

I wouldn't do business with Progressive if they insured everything I own for free with a zero deductable. They're crooks.

I use state farm for all my insurance needs. Local rep is great to deal with and he never has given me a hassle so far when I have made a claim.(knock on wood)
This to me is worth the little extra I pay to him per year. My policy is identical to a full coverage automobile insurance policy including the medical aspects of it. That way if you smack someone else up it not only covers both quads but any injuries that might have occured. It runs me about $270 per year. The deductible is $250. Money well spent in my mind.

What bargins you guys are finding. In the Dallas area, I have been quoted from $382 at 3 locations (one was Progressive on line), State Farm balked because I do not have my auto insurance with them. They were even evasive about my State Farm homeowners insurance covering it at home. My own auto insurance company is USAA and they wanted $770 a year for full coverage.
