Default Buddy's craptor....

My buddy has a '03 Raptor(we now call it the Craptor)...
The main problem he has with the bike is if we go on hills with
any type of incline over 10 degrees the bike wants to sputter and die...
I am not talking major inclines or heights....
He and I both have tried "feathering" the he$$ out of the clutch and it
still bogs and dies...Has already caused him one accident.....
Is this a common problem with Raptors...We asked another guy we ride
with(who also has a '05 Raptor) and he says he tends to have this same problem
on hills...My buddy is usually following behind me and I'm on a Warrior or my z400 and I have no problems
with these "inclines"....Has anybody experienced this or does anybody know what might
cause it? Any help would be appreciated...He's really thinking about selling the craptor and
buying a z400 if he can't figure it out...We are not speed demons by any means, so the hill
climbing issue is where we spend around 1/2 our time...

Do you think that it would be one of the best hill climbers around if they all did that? I climb one of the baddest sand dunes in the U.S. (Chokecherry @ St. Anthony dunes) without so much as missing a beat. Mine's bone stock except for a K&N and Outerwears. I'd have to go with the float theory, too. I've seen floats get knocked out of adjustment just by landing harsh. Possibly some crap in the gas tank that only oozes back if you're climbing.

Regardless of what the cause, he finally had enough and a dealer gave him a he$$ of a
deal on an '06 Polaris Predator 500(new red and black paint scheme)...We rode yesterday and
he absolutely loves it...It ate up the hills and spit them out...He had absolutely no problems
going anywhere my Z400 went...My apologies to whoever buys the Craptor........I'm sure it was
a problem with the carb or something, but that bike was a pain in his a$$ ever since he bought it....
It was a used bike when he bought it, so no telling the whole history behind it...All I know is he is
much happier with the Predator....And by the way, way to go Polaris, you finally made a sport bike
with a decent paint scheme and graphics...
