Default warrior dies

Ok its old and tired but i just need it to run ok for now till i have the money to buy a new quad, since i dont think an 88 is worth a full rebuild and big bore. ANYWAY it starts right up, idles fairly smooth and in netural has quick throttle response, however after rapping it through some gears if i let off the throttle (clutch in or out) it will die unless i rev it up. once it stops and am sitting there it runs fine. help please!!

Clean airfilter?
Fresh quality oil?
New plugs?
Fresh gas?
Clean the carbs? (prolly your problem)
Have you tried all of these?

If it were a compression/rebuild problem it would be acting weird all the time. Not just when you let off the throttle.

has new plug (ngk d8ea) new oil (yamalube) fresh gas with additive, cleaned air filter(does it with or with out air filter) sprayed carb cleaner in carb but thinking i should problly take carb off and apart and clean throughly. Whats a new carb cost. the guy i got it from said it was rebuilt 3 years ago. I know this motor has sucked sand, as it still had the factory air filter setup all these years.
