ok, just put my 89 warrior back together after sitting for 7 years. Got it running good, but when ever i use gears 2 through 6, it pops out of gear and back to neutral ( neutral light comes on). It does not do this in first gear though. Any thoguhts on what it could be? A few people told me it was the dogs, but would they go in all the top gears like that at once? Is there anyhting simple it could be? Thanx for any help.

Did you try getting a new clutch for your Warrior? That may have something to do with it.

It could be your shift shaft, shift drum, bent forks, or worn gear dogs.

and that would mess up ALL the top gears (2-6)? Is there ANYTHING it could be thats not inside the cases? Like on the clutch cover side where the shift shaft comes throguh? Thanx.

screamin96:

Sorry to say....I believe it sounds like a bad shift fork. If your uncomfortable with tearing it down....Your best bet is a good mechanic....

I have been inside a warrior a few times....I notice your in NY....not sure where "bansheeville" is though

I am in NY...If you were close I might be able to help you.

I gave the guy who bought my warrior the repair manual...Or else I would give it to you

Thanx alot bro, i appreciate it. I do have a book though. I just have never been in there before, so its gonna be scarey. If thats the case, i think im gonna just wait till the nicer weather comes to tear it apart. I wanna have it to plow snow off my driveway, so i might just wait till winter is over. All i need is first gear for plowing. Anyone know roughly how much parts would cost? Oh yeah, im in orange county, ny.
