Default 2003 warrior starting problems

Hi, I have a 2003 warrior and i absolutely love it!! But the other day when i went to start it up i heard a spinng sound. The engine was not turning over but i heard the starter motor spinning. Is there some kind of one-way shaft or part that may have went bad???
PLEASE HELP!!

It sounds like your starter clutch (one way bearing). Like with most yamaha's, the one on the warrior is a common problem.

Ok thanks, do you have any idea how much that part would cost and is it a do-it-yourselfer of would it be better off left to a mechanic. Any special tools needed?

The parts will be about $200 I think, because you will need the one-way assembly, and the gear that the bearing rides on, because the mating surface on the old gear will be pitted up and uneven. When mine went out I had my uncle fix it for me, so I don't know exactly what's involved with it. I think you will need a flywheel puller to get to the one-way.

If you want to take a look at a service manual for the warrior, let me know and i'll find you the link to download one for free.
