So, I need some skid plates for my Kodiak 450. Should I get them direct from Yamaha?

How about wheels/tires. Would ITP C-series wheels and Mud-Lites be good for all terrains except sand and rocks?

THANKS!

What or where do you do most of your riding? I would stick with 26" or smaller....I would get 26x9x12 front and 26x10x12 rear...mudlights work well in PA...but be warned they will rip up your yard.....not sure about skidplates

Get Swamplites!!!! They are a great all terrain tire, actually a number one rated! Look at my pics to see them. Mudlites are OK but are made for mud, and i hear they arent as good on hardpack and rough terrain.

I'm gonna hold off on the wheels/tires for a couple of months. I'm more concerned with skid plates right now. The companies I've heard of are Yamaha-Accessories, Aluminum Products, and Richochet Skid Plates. Which should I get?

I would not go with the Mudlites and I live in PA. I have several plugs in the sidewalls of mine. They ride well and are great in mud but those weak sidewalls are a pain in the a$$.

From other ATV forums I have read about others having the same problems with the sidewalls. If I hadn't had the experience firsthand I may have not believed it either. I have three plugs in one front sidewall and two in a rear tire sidewall. And to boot, I don't travel on much rocky terrain. Again I'm speaking from experience...I have had 7 ATV's over the past 14 years or so and have never had this kind of problems (even with those silly factory tires).
