well i might be buying a banshee fairly new with a blown engine for 400.oo bucks.
now to my question how much would it cost to completly bebuilt a banshee from top to bottom, what would i need, and what would it cost?

 

That depends on what you really need....
If you need a crank, bearings, seals, pistons, pins, rods, gaskets, gears, springs, cases, pump..can go on and on. Your looking at a good amount of money. I can estimate $2000 easily by the time you factor in labor. Probably much more than that.Depending on the mods while it's apart.
If you have someone to do the work..maybe less.

Are you sure it needs a rebuild from top to bottom?

 

IF YOU DO IT YOURSELF IT'S NOT BAD - I DID MINE FOR ROUGHLY $600. WISECO CRANK -PISTONS-30 OVER BORE- GASKETS-ETC.

well...I guess if you can get the parts for that cheap....And do the labor yourself. I can't imagine a bottom and top end for that price...But..I guess I am wrong.

I know it is possible to do the top end for a couple hundred. Cranks usually run around 300..unless yours is rebuildable. Transmission work is not cheap.

 

At any rate, BUY IT!!! For $400.00 thats a steal.

new crank w/ bearings $350-piston kit $125-gasket kit, complete $35-if any tranny parts are bad check www.atvsalvage.com. i bought tranny parts from them to redo mine. used parts but good price. it's alright to buy used gears

 

Yes it is a great deal, and my dad rebuilds car engines and mottor cyvle engines so hes gunna do it for me.

 

so what would the price be to rebuilt the top/end of the engine if i build it myself with the gasket,crank,weisco piston , ect ect ect

i know it probobly will be more than what i am planing on baying for the bike but as long as i get her runnin.
