yamaha warranty
The tie rods were mine. I got the same results from TWO different Yamaha dealers. The first one was where I bought it, with an extra $1000 in accessories before it left the shop. I think they'd be inclined to help me out..... When I didn't get the answers I was looking for there, I pulled it and went to another shop. Same results, both said Yamaha told them no way. When I'd call and talk to the reps at Yamaha that were "handling" it they'd tell me that they had absolutely no say in it at all, the dealer makes that decision. I've heard multiple stories like mine from other people. Yamaha is in business to make money, that doesn't include fixing your bike even though you paid all that money for an extended warranty. Search the internet forums for a day or two, you'll find TONS of similar stories......

The manufacturer has nothing to do with extended warrenties. They are handled by a seperate company and have sole descretion over what gets fixed and what is not. I not seen many cases where the extended warrenty paid off. When I worked for Cat dealer it was a hassle getting anything done with extended warr. You have to get the OK to do anything or they will not pay for it. If you get OK and then find something else you have to stop and get OK for that and so on and so on. My experiance is it is a waste of money, and the dealer takes alot of heat when things don't go the way the customer thinks that it should.
