Default sudden acceleration

has anyone experienced a sudden acceleration? i was riding a kodiak450, turning slowly to the right, barely touched the throttle and it just took off. i fell off and it went 40' or so further and finally stopped. this was not a stuck throttle.

if its accelerating when you turn then that means the throttle cable is getting pulled when you turn causing the quad to go (the same as when you push the throttle with your thumb). Just check to see how tight the cable is when you turn and adjust it so it won't be so tight and you should be fine.

Same thing happened to me on my son's baby rappy. I cleaned the carb and put it back in. I was sitting on it while fine tuning and when I pushed the handlebars one way it would rev and the other way come back down. Try That... (in neutral) If you can control the engine speed by turning the handlebars you need to lengthen it until it goes away...
Good luck,
Chuck

thanks for the reply, but are you sure that the 2006 model has a cable. The exact same thing just happened to a friend of mine. did it 3 times. took off when he barely touched it.

I'm not a "Quad Master" but I have never heard of one not having a throttle cable. Have you tried what I suggested? I would give the same answer to the other thread where you mentioned it. The steering is the only thing I can think of that will tweek the cable like you described.
Good Luck,
Chuck
