The problem was who ever assembled the boots had pinched a bunch which let dirt and sand in. I hope they fired this guy but he's probably in upper managment now.
The only way to stop the brake squealing is to replace the pads with some made of harder material. I just spray some wd-40 on the brake disk and no more noise. But no brake either for a while. I use the front any way. With the engine braking system I rarely use it anyway.
