Took both mine in in the spring.
Called first and they ordered the parts.
Had them back the next day.
You should be able to still take them in??

OK, I must be an idiot too. I'm not sure if you're talking about the tie rod ends or something else. If it's something else, well, I guess I need it replaced too

it's a rubber boot on each end of the front axles. yamaha thinks several units boots have a small tear allowing water to get in the cv and failing.

NO, it's for the front tie rod ends. If you give your dealer your VIN number he can run it and find out if it has had it's update. If not I'm sure they will do for you.

I took mine in when it was under warranty last year for some brake squealing and a idle adjustment. They never mentioned the boot recall to me, and they did't fix the brake squeal. The mechanic told me he sprayed some special lube on the backs of the pads, but I didn't notice any improvement. I heard there was a brake recall as well. Anyone else hear anything like this or have a similar problem?

Tie rod ends then? I've had that done already. A nice Yamaha story. Coming home one day a month after buying my 05 kodiak, my tie rod end left lose. The way I limped home was by using a tie strap to hold up the tie rod. After getting it home Yamaha told me it would be a few months before they got the new tie rod ends in. A brand new ATV and no way to ride. My dealer would not help me so I went to another Yamaha dealer and got, I belive it was an 03 tie rod end, to get me going. What a pain!. Good thing now is that there should be plenty in stock. Get those Kodiaks fixed if not you could be in the situation I was in.
