Default 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 4X4 help!!

I have a 2000 Big Bear 4X4 400 and I notice that when I have my atv in neutral and rev it up a little, it seems like my engine does not want to idle down. It seems like something sticks causing it not to go back down to idle speed. Eventually if it idles enough, it will go back down to where it is suppose to be during the idle.

Can any of you help me?

Default 2000 Yamaha Big Bear 4X4 help!!

Thanks for the info. My carb was cleaned (boiled) out about 1 1/2 years ago. Is there a carb cleaner that I could run with my gas to clean out like you have for our car?

What are you saying when you say it might be my idle??

Thanks for your help.

well there should be an idle screw on the carb. you can raise the idle or lower it. i dont think that could be what is wrong with your atv though. you could run carb and fuel injector cleaner in it.

Thanks, I know what screw piece you are talking about and I don't think that is it. So you are saying that it is okay to run carb and fuel cleaner through my atv. I have never done this or heard of this, but I guess the concept would work. I might have to give it a try.

wooo hold on there one thing to add! make sure the carb cleaner does not contain octane boost!! You dont have a racing piston in that big bear so that would be really bnad for it another thing fill the tank up and put about half to 3 quarters a bottle in it... then run the tank almost empty like till you have to switch to res. If that doesnt fix then you might have to take apart!

Thanks Yamahaalltheway for the tip. I might try the carb cleaner if it won't hurt anything. Thanks for the added advice.
