Default Help

heres what i have tried so far.....change battery...cleaned the armature motor cleaned the brushes in the starter, lubed the bushing back up.....hit the start button and it like it doesnt have enought power to turn over the motor...so i tried to jump it off....done the same thing....but if i put the four wheeler in 1st gear and push it back n forth then try to start it again it does start, but if i turn it off again and try it, does the same thing , so i have to put it back in gear and rock it back n forth.....any suggestions? Im about fed up with this thing. thanks

also if ii touch the two silinod wires together without using the switch it still acts like it wants to turn over but wont...Thy are no sounds of grinding gears or anything...It acts like the bike just has too much compression. ahh!!

Also took the starter to advance to see if it was bad...pulled a good 6amps... I needa help fasttt.

Maybe your compression release isn't working right? It says how to check it in the service manual. You must remove the valve cover to do it. It shows how to check it with the cam removed but, I'm sure it can be checked without removing the cam. I

could it maybe be a bad place in the starter where when i rock the quad back and forth it puts the starter on the good spot??? Anyways im taking the new battery back tommorrow and telling them it isnt holding charge to no for sure it isnt the battery....even if i jump it off it still acts like it doesnt have enough power to turn over the motor...

Not sure. I know its a lot harder to crank a motor when the compression release is not working right. I learned that the hard way on 4x4s.

Its part of the cam sprocket. If you had to have a dealer check it, you could save some money by removing the front plastics and tank before bringing it in. I do not own a raptor so i'm not sure if this would keep it from starting or not. I know it would make the starter's life a lot harder. I'm not saying its the problem but it could be. A new starter is $125 on ebay if you wanted to give that a try. I forgot, it can also be caused by the one-way bearing. If moving the quad back and forth helps, that might be your problem.

im not sure about the bearing...because the starter doesnt make any spinnign sounds like the bearing is slipping or anything....it is like the starter strains to turn over the motor.....ahh idk aggravates me.
