Is it stock? On a stock engine, it's usually best to run 87. Generally, you get the best performance when you run the lowest octane possible while still keeping the engine running like it's supposed to. Higher octane mainly makes the fuel burn slower, which is necessary with higher performance engines with high compression and stuff like that, where detonation could be a problem. Running higher octane in a stock engine will just give you carbon deposits and waste money.

owners manual says premium but id run that when i could if not i ran regular. race gas does nothing unless u need it. its just like with cars. u see everyone goin down to the track adn puttin 105 octane in there car with a stock motor. sure its got bolt ons but ur not running boost or high compression or anything. on a stock motor u will loose power from running a higher octane. my friend was told by his engine builder to run 105 with an octane booster in his 250r and it killed the motor 15 min into braking it it. got it back togeather and now he runs 110 with no problem. granted it makes 64hp. the point to that is dont use octane booster. kills pisons and kills cylender walls. spend the few extra $ and run whatever gas u need. dont run a higher octane than u need cause ull loose performance. premeum is fine. thats what i run in my bikes

like someone else said..if its stock you want lower octanes..such as 87...
but on another note, if you run premium, but not 100% of the time, it will almost NEED the premium, in a sense. It will run MUCH worse without it if you do that.
I'd just stick with 87, racing fuels and that sort of thing are pretty much useless and a waste of money.
