I've been helping a friend of mine work on an 80 badger and we have it running but if it's cold you have to push start it. It runs pretty good but about 10 minutes after you shut it off you have to push start it again. It will only start with electric start when warm. Could the valves need adjusted? Any other ideas? I believe your right about the valves. Thats not to hard to do and it doesn't cost a thing. I found that when we had ours, I had to adjust the valves about one a year.

 

Does the problem seem worse when it's colder outside? The air temp and temp of the motor itself effects how well it will start. Make sure the choke is working right. Try taking the airbox cover off and filter, cover the air intake with your hand and try cranking it.. if it starts right up, you just aren't getting enough fuel to start for the air temp. Don't forget to put the filter and airbox cover back on after it starts. It might need the fuel screw turned out a bit. It never hurts to make sure the valves are set right.
