I mounted the contactor in the storage compartment under the seat also. I ran all the cables in wire loom for added protection, my battery cables were long enough, but not by a whole lot. As a added safety, instead of running the red switch wire to the battery I soldered it to the switched line for the headlights. That way no one can just hit the switch on the winch, the headlights have to be on.
But after the time I had in installing everything, next time I will probably have the dealer do it. My dealer has been excellent before I purchased my Grizz and afterward also with advise and support. I would trust them to do it right.

On my previous model Grizzly's... I put it under the seat... I had the dealer do the one on my 07... They've got it mounted up by the battery.. (which is under the front rack on the 07 700...) I've already had the quad under water up to the racks, and it works just fine...

I just installed the warn winch on my 700 Grizzly last week the contact switch mounts to the back of the bracket that bolts to the frame If you are going to install it and have questions feel free to ask man.you have to bolt the cables to the contact switch first then bolt the switch to the back of the bracket, position the blue and yellow cables up so they are pointing toward the winch and the long red and black cables go up to the battery.took me about three hours
