whats the best affortable rear tires for a blaster
#1
I got a gift certificate, and i want to get rear tires for my blaster. i hear razr or itp hole shots are good. I want to be able to kick out in sand but still be ok for new englad rock and mud trails when i have to go through those things. but basically i want rear ties so when i want to kick out i can with out sticking into the ground like the stock ones do. the stock ones won't let u do donuts. i can do better donuts on my zuk ozark go figure so i want these new rear tires.

Razrs or Holeshots are both great tires. Alternatively, you could run Turftamers and save some cash. I have used the GBC Shredders(I think they are called Groundbusters now.) Those last forever and are pretty easy to initiate a slide with. They seemed to work OK for most trail conditions too. I don't know how well they would do in a pure sand environment, you won't get as much traction as with the Razrs or something due to the harder rubber compound, but I never really had a problem getting through reasonable muck.

Kenda Klaws are a sweet tire on a budget. They'll last 5 times as long as razrs or holeshots, and have a reversible tread that can work awesome for hard pack or loose stuff (like sand) when you need it. I don't know if a stock blaster will have the oomph to really break them loose and slide very well though.
The knobby x-pattern tires like holeshots and razrs will slide easier, but I hear that they really don't do much except dig holes in sand, unless it's packed a little. Between holeshots and razrs i'd go for the razrs, they're a little more durable and long lasting.
For a little extra money though, you can get the Kenda Sport Radials. THOSE would probably be the perfect tire for you. They ride smoother than any ply-bias tire, slide great when you want them to, and hook up good in any terrain, even mud, when you need them to.
I'm getting some 20" Kenda radials for my warrior in the spring when I get back into track riding. My Swamplites are sweet tires for trail riding, but they have too much traction a lot of the time. Even in wet grass, I can throw it into a tight 180, and come out of it on one wheel because they refuse to slide.

132 PER TIRE for standard Razrs? That's insane. That's even crazy high for Razr 2's. You're right, you can get a pair for that much from rockymountain.
Some dealers are just like that, and those are the dealers you see going out of business every year, as more and more customers realize how bad they have been getting ripped off over the years.
