I wonder if it's because the steering stem is connected to the Power Steering Unit and normally it would go through the steering stop bracket. The shorter stem they're using may have alittle play going into the unit causing vibration back through the bars, just a though.

On vibration in the bars. Yamaha did change the Idel and every unit should be checked. Settings are listed in a thread. I had more vibration at first and less after breakin. It is also a single big bore. I love it so far. Started at 10'F and no problem running or Idel.

ColoradoBubba, Did you get it back and how is it running? Indiana does not have the elevation or cold you have. But there are a lot of us who want to come out your way and ride. Let us know how your Grizzly is doing.

I've not done anything yet, see previous post of my last trip on Sunday.
Still had cold start troubles took 10 trys. Once she was up and running the ride was great.
Will be taking it back in for the 10 hour service this week and will let thm know that it still takes a lot a cranking to get her started.

I droped off Grizzly at dealer this afternoon, lows tonight around 0 degrees, Thursday night -7.
I've got 9.6 hours on unit.
I asked the service rep if they could check the air temp sensor or coolant sensor and determine if it was reading within spec. He said they don't get paid unless they replace something and the part would have to be defective.
My comment was I'm getting pretty discourged about your ability to fix this, unless you can test out the sensors and such how will you find the problem.

So bottom line is if you own a Grizzly and plan on starting it in single digit weather you are screwed! You spent $8K on junk. My carberated Praire 400 starts every flipping time in the same temps etc as this new over priced over rated pile which takes 8-10 attempts to start.

Note guys the ad from Yamaha promotes this FI system as the cold start solution. BS!
I'm going to start another thread on this forum to track cold start issues maybe someone will key in cold start in subject line and know of a fix, other than lighting a match and building a fire!

Well Bubba, I understand your frustration, Im going through the same problem with my Grizz as well. The dealer is waiting to see what Yamaha is going to do about this. Until then I'll have to just put up with it not starting when below 0 out.

I sure they don't just blow off this hoping we don't encounter cold weather again.
How many hours do you have on yours?

CB I have not had the problem again, but I have not tried to start thr beast in single digit temps. I wish I could leave it out in the cold, but I am afraid someone will come and steal it in the neighborhood I am in!!!

I've got about 12 hours on it. I did have them switch to Yamalube 5w30 CW (Cold Weather) oil to see if this might help.

Sorry to hear about the cold starting issues ya'll are having. If it was single digit temps here, I would be inside next to a roaring fireplace, coldest I've ridden in is about 32 degrees, any problems around that temp?
