Default raptor 350 74.3 mph, no way!

a raptor 350 is derived from a warrior and it is lighter. warriors have been consitently clocked at 60mph stock. This is historical fact since 1987. I had a 1988 model, changed the front sproket it would do about 67-68, stock. so if i had lighter weight and more mods, it is possible that it could have hit 70+mph on pavement.

However, the rear tire size on a warrior was 22" (as opposed to 20" now with the raptor350) and centrifigal force cause the tires to grow, or expand thus letting you gain a little more topseed. what no one ever takes seriously in all these calulations is the tire factor - all tires will do this to an extent- the faster you go...the more they grow. ever watch real drag racing? notice the tires getting taller as they do the burnouts and when they go down the strip? this factors into topspeed. always has, always will.

so stick 22" rear tires on your raptor350, go up a tooth on the front, you'll be around 67-68. change the cam, pipe, carb (get a keihin or edlebrock - its on their website), jet it right you'll likely be at 74 at WOT on pavement. now a big bore kit...that changes allot. you could make yourself one sleeper machine and suprise allot of people.

Yes very nicely said. As for the tires my turf tammers are wearing out a bit so i was going to get some holeshots of some sort, probably 21's in size. Two days ago i bought a web .430 cam with perfomance springs, a wiseco 10.5:1 piston and top end gasket kit from ebay. And a renthal 14t. front sprocket and an outerwear from rocky mountain. I already have a slip-on HMF,K&N filter, and its jetted. And for the gas i think i am going to run 91-93 octane premium with a squirt of race gas, just because. And i'm not gonna get a big bore kit, yet.
