Warrior 350 starting
#1
I have a 91 350 warrior that will not start without the battery charger connected to it for about 10 minutes. Has new battery. It turns over fine but just floods out and never catches. Leave it set for 15 minutes with battery charger on and it will fire up and continue to start unassisted as long as it does not sit for more then two hours. No measurable drain on battery when the key switch is off. HELP>>>

only thing i can think of to have u try is switching batts with soemone else to see if it still does it or if it stops

yea or take the battery back and if its from autozone or something theyll test it if it just needs a charge theyll charge it if its bad u can get another 1 for free i had that happen and i found out the battery was just trash off the shelf

no mods accept 10 overbore with wisco pistion. Nothing done to the carb. Battery is Yuasa YB12CA. Both batteries are really new and both act the same way. The charger puts out almost 13 volts when its on the battery but nothing makes sense. Why will it start without assist when it is warm?

i'm gonna go on a limb and say.. soemthing is corroded or out of spec and when it gets hot/warm it gets in tollerance or enough to pass the current to make it run

I am cool. I have all the manuals and schematics. Their are no specs on the current draw of the starter but I know it is over 10amps when it is cranking. I thought maybe the starter drew the battery down when it was cranking and that made the CDI not fire correctly but I can not find the correct specs on the current a good starter will draw and I really do not want to buy a new starter to swap it out.
