How cold was it outside?

Even though the bike is stock maybe it ran lean and fried a piston ring?

alright, thanks!

i premix my gas anyway, not as rich as i would if i was going to run mixed fuel, but i add a bit of oil to the tank anyway. Ive never really trusted the mixers on engines, ive had many fail, so i always that the little extra step.

thank yall for the help.

sparky, its been between 3 and 16 degrees, today its 31*. the piston as far as i can tell is fine, and the squall i was talkin about before has gone away.

when i hear the squall, i imidiatly parked the quad, and today when i fired it up and took a ride, there was no noise at all, it ran smooth as silk.

Change the tranny fluid and buy the blockoff kit, its well worth it.
