Default 2002 Blaster starting trouble

I have a 2002 blaster that im still payin payments on. It is used.

I was out riding the other day and i lost all power, like the engine just died. but when i have it full throttle the engine would come back up, like i had ran out of gas and the bowl was dry, but i had a full tank.

After this the blaster wouldnt start, for anything. Ive checked compression, its fine; Ive checked the fire and even installed a new plug; ive pulled the carb off and checked it all out, it was as clean as ever. i checked the fuel flow through the needle in the carb, works just fine. Ive checked the reeds, theyre like brand new, im not sure what else there could be.

Thank you all in advance for any help you have.

-Phil

Is it still stock? You might have a air leak in the base gasket or head gasket. Have you tried pull starting it?

yea its still stock, i believe. we pull started it today, fired up and ran fine. fires right up everytime now, not sure what the deal was.

i rode it for just a little bit, did some doughnuts in the snow, and started hearing this load squalling noise, not sure what it is. Could it be that the side case on the kicker side is low on oil? i havent checked it but my oil ight is on, and my 2 stroke tank is full, so i wondered if there was a sencor in there too.

what kind of oil do you put in the sidecase there? is it just motor oil or trans fluid or what?

thanks for all the help.

The oil light is for the two stroke oil. In the tranny make sure you use motorcycle, atv specific oil. What videos are you trying to watch/

I guess you have to pay for the video. Theres a sight glass to check the oil level. It should be halfway in the sight glass. I don't know what the squeling could be.

You said your oil light is on and the 2 stroke oil container is full right?

The oil pump on Blasters uses a plastic gear most people (like me) remove that and install a oil block off plate and mix their own oil with gas.
I wonder if that gear broke or something like that.

The light comes on when your oil level in the tank is below a certain level. I would premix some oil with gas and put in the tank to before pulling the hose off and seeing if oil comes out while its running. An easy check is to take the oil pump cover off, on the right(kickstarter) side off engine, Loosen the Phillips head screw on the side off the oil pump. If no oil comes you have a problem, like the vent on the oil tank maybe plug. I have a 91 Blaster and have yet to have any problems with it. Occasionaly my oil light comes on, I just make sure my tank is full, my vent is obstruction free, and bleed the air out of the lines if I do any work to the carb( you do this by removing the screw like I said above). I have yet to hear of anyone actually seeing in person where the oil pump has failed. Here is a article about oil injection.
