Default Zerk fittings

Need advise. Does anyone know how often, if ever, you would need to lube the bearings & seals inside the swing arms with grease on Yamaha ATVs. I have a 03 Raptor & was wondering why they have Zerk fittings for the front arms but not the rear. My other question is this. Can you drill & press a Zerk fitting into the rear swing arm so you can pump in bearing grease? Would that be a good idea? Just a food for thought question.

yeah alot of people put a zerk in the bearing carrier just like you said, if your bearings come sealed take off the inside seal so the grease can do its job...

The A-arms use bushings instead of bearings so thats why they have grease fittings. Being able to fill up the whole axle carrier with grease helps a lot because it fills in all the voids and keeps water out. I would install one. It's cheap insurance. If you ride in a lot of water it should help. The bearings still wear out at some point though.
