How much power does a 400 have... 30-34? I would agree with you, it's going to take a lot.

i can get the same exact piston on ebay for about $50 less. I dont want to go that big of a cam. .430 will do. I dont want to spend $650 for someone to hack away at my motor with a dremel! and i will be buying a 14T. sprocket soon. and my carb is jetted already. As for the cdi the one i was looking at was a dynatek(ebay search:raptor 350 dynatek)and it does more than raise the revs. And theres no way i'm getting a stroker. Does anyone know who can do a good porting for cheaper? thanks

Hey I'm just trying to help you out here. There is no rev limiter so there is nothing to raise. You can add a rev limiter with this box, but you'll never use that. Nobody else sells the 10.75:1 JE piston except Alba Racing. Your going to need that big of a cam to beat these bikes. Duncan Racing ports heads and has a serdi machine to do valve seat cuts for $395. FST does porting for cheaper and I would go with an oversized intake valve. I would go with either one if it where my bike. Sorry but they don't use a "dremel." and they aren't hacks. That statement right there really puts me off. You'll have to rejet after you upgrade your piston and cam.

well #1 i know a few good porters who do really good work with a dremel... you have to know how to use it.. also.. you'll float the valves before you hit the rev limiter

You have to take into effect the core charge for the cam as well. I believe that's $95 dollars. You would want to go and have your cylinder bored and honed out to clean up the cylinder walls and make sure the rings seat. Get like a 1 over piston. You can get a 85mm bore piston and make your bike a 366cc but higher compression will do you more good. Your going to need every bit to get with those 400's.

sorry i didnt mean for it to sound rude. and you are right about the piston. The one i'm looking at is a 10.5. Tomorrow i am going to buy the web .430 cam,10.5 JE piston,14T. renthal sprocket, and an outerwear. I'll scoop up enough money later for porting. Who sells bigger valves? and i forgot about the core chage grrrr. I'm not going to get it bored, not reliable enough.

No, take $95 dollars off of the cam for the core charge once you send it back to them and you'll have to get some valve springs with it. vito's performance has great stuff and I ordered some stuff from them. You'll find your oversized valve (you'll have to have the head machined though) and pistons there. Make sure if you get a cam that you tell them it's for a raptor.
Powroll and FST I talked to about there 366cc piston and just boring in general. They both said there is more then enough sleeve left even when you go .080 over. So don't worry about boring it to have the sleeve cleaned up. If the cylinder is within spec you can get away with just honing.
Your going to have a tough time keeping up let alone beating them just with these mods. The b l u e t r a x x forum has some good info to.
Don't mean to get you down.

Well like many people have told me, i guess I will pass it on to you. If I were you i would just save your money and get a different quad.
After putting like 2000 dollars in extras on my raptor 350 I finally realized it will never be able to put out the power that I want. I had the
same circumstances as you, I put the cam in and stuff like that to beat my friends kfx 400. With what I have I can make it a close race,
but I could never seal the deal. We picked up my 06 450er for a couple hundred less than I paid for my 350. Now my friend is the one
adding parts to try and keep up with me.

Just my 2 cents

No, you can get away with using your top-end with no porting or a bigger valve. But you must you high tension valve springs, web sells them. Actually the head flows alright for a two valve 350 engine, porting just helps with the larger cam lifts to take full advantage of the cam.
