[blue] I own a 99' Special Edition [/blue][black]black[/black]/[yellow]yellow[/yellow][blue] Warrior:

[ul][red][*]SuperTrapp IDS 2 Silencer w/ 12 discs & quiet core[*]Motion-Pro Twist Throttle & 909 grips[*]K&N Filter[*]152.5 dynojet carb jet[*]22x11x9 Holeshot XCT 6 ply
[/ul][/red]

My question is:
I am about to change from my 22x11x9 Holeshot 6 ply's to some 20x10x9 Ohtsu 2 ply (the stock tires of a 400 ex). I want to know how much this change will alter my gearing. At the moment, I am running the stock gearing(13 tooth counter sprocket and 40 tooth rear sprocket). Will the change in tire diameter cause enough altercation of my gearing to require the gearing of the sprockets to be changed. If so, do you recommend changing the rear or the counter sprocket? I want to maintain the same power to speed ratio as what I have now.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Going from 22" holeshots to 20" OEMs willgive you the feel of more bottom end but will also shave a little off the top speed. You may also notice that the quad feels like it has alot more off the line because of the lighter tire your puuting on.
You could probaly offset any topend loss by stepping up one tooth on your front sprocket

I have 20" tires on all 4's.
Theres really not much of a change. But like the other post had said it will shave very little of the top end. You can go with 1 tooth bigger on your counter shaft sproket to bring it back to where it is now.

Hounddog...you can do a search under the performance heading for my screen name and it will bring up a posting i made on how to calculate the exact ratios you will have by changing tires. I am going to put 25" tires on my banshee so the math was a little different than what you will have to do but i think i put a link in there to a web page that helps when you are reducing tire size.
