i have a 03 660r it has a full length exhaust, jetted, k&n filter, 02 hers is piped, jetted, and k&n, and a hot cam, what i was wondering was should i get the edlebrock carb or a hot cam stage two i have $600 to kick her ***. tell me whats the best to blow her away off the line.

like you said theres no replacement for displacment so if you could with your raptor get it bored out. Get some hardcore engine mods, $600 isn't much but it should do ok. Maybe look into high compression piston or a cheap way different front sproket

 

I would get a cam and a high compression piston, like from JE. I wouldnt worry about a carb yet. Why do you care if she beats you? You may not can handle her 450, but just show her you can handle HER later on![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

 

Several solutions to your problem. Not in any order.

#8 Grease her clutch leaver.
#7 Switch rides with her.
#6 Get a new girlfriend with a Honda ride. (Oh did I just say that?)
#5 Pound a potato in her pipe.
#4 Turn her gas off.
#3 Point at her engine seconds before you race.
#2 Feed her lots of food so she gets fat and looses the power to weight advantage. (Hmmm, might not want to do this one.)

And the # 1 thing I would do to beat her in a race...................

Nitrous. Nitrous is the solution to everything. When your sad..........nitrous. When you want to look cool..........nitrous. When your slow..........nitrous. In all seriousness, you have a lot of things going against you. All of the 450 quads are built for one thing..............racing. The Rappy is a super nice quad, but it was built for all around riding, not racing.
Another big problem is well..........you. If your big(er) and your girlfriend is smaller the power to weight is going to go to her. If she can ride just as good as you she will win every time.
Just race her for favors; that way even if you loose you win!!!!! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img][img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

Race her and see how close it is. Then the first thing to do would be piston and cam if you want or need more. You might win right now anyway.
