nothing happens when i pull the lever in, in fact, it wouldnt start before the problem unless the lever was pulled in, i had removed the parking brake stuff. it was working great, then i shut it down to take a break and when i went to start it nothing.

Do you have access to an electrical meter and know how to use one, or an automotive 12 volt DC test light?

Electrical diagrams think of it as plumbing in the house!
Look for the components between, by tracing the wire layout from the button in question to the starter!
Hey guys does the Warrior have a Starter Cutoff Relay that is hooked to the neutal safety switch and the starter
button? And the other side of this small relay goes to the starter solenoid?

yes there is a starter cut off relay, i spent about an hour last night talking with rruser, he knows a ton about electrical. i have a multimeter and am going to try to figure this out right now. gotta love days off.

I had to do alot of electrical work on my Warrior recently, but it's a 96. Nothing was failing, just a bunch of the wires were cracked and broken, causing major problems. Tore it completely down, and had to remake alot of the waterproof connections myself. Lots of splicing/soldering to get it back working right again....
Hope you get your problem fixed.

I have a 97 Yamaha warrior, I also was dealing with the issue of push start button not working properly. Spent several hours replace many parts new switch, relays, recifier, stator, cdi box ,wiring harness,soliniod.. still continued not to start with button. Me and a good friend ripped down quad and found a fix... Apparently the soliniod has top posts for the battery and starter wire but the 2 smaller wires that run to the switch seemed to be the issue..Hope this help many other Warrior riders out there . The fix is on the soliniod remove the blues and white stripe wire from the connector.. plug only the red white stripe wire to the switch connector, now take the blue white stripe wire and connect it to the top post on soliniod that runs to battery. I used a ring connector and tighten bolt down on the battery wire and new ring connector I installed.. button is working great.
